CITIZENS WITH PALILULA MUNICIPALITY ON FLOODING CONSEQUENCE

Although it has been almost three months past, there has been no withdrawal of water since the water level of contagious waters is growing daily. Endangered are both residential and commercial buildings, agricultural plots, local infrastructure and local paved roads. In some parts of the flooded areas, have emerged also landslides, for example in the settlements in Gabrovac, Krusce and Mramor, which additionally makes the situation alarming. To be able to efficiently and timely react and apply the measures envisaged by the Law on emergency situations and thus help the local population to prevent the occurrence of even greater consequence and even greater damage, the Councilors of Palilula Assembly asked the city staff for emergencies to declare an emergency situation in all affected areas. The initiative of the Municipality has not been accepted. On the situation in the flooded territory of the municipality, the measures undertaken by the Management and leadership of Palilula Municipality, launched initiatives at the press conference, which was held in Palilula Municipality spoke Palilula president Boban Džunić, representatives of the Council of Citizens of Novo Selo, Međurovo, Belotinac from the municipality Doljevac.

During this occasion it has been announced that had been submitted the demand to the Public Health Institute Niš for sampling soil and water in the flooded area. It will be carried out sampling of drinking water in Novo Selo, Upper Medjurovo and Belotinac, but aso of soil and waste water. On the situation were informed competent authorities of Republic. Residents of flooded areas were once again stressed that they expect more vigorous and effective approach to the problem, insecticides, waterlogged pitch, as well as additional resources from the city to speed up problems solving in flooded village. Residents of flooded areas are still not satisfied with the way the city reacted in eliminating the consequences of the floods.
